People Operations Manager Fixed Term - Full Time Location: Ascot Salary £40,000 + Benefits

We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Staffing Manager to join our first class team in Ascot for a 12 month Fixed Term contract, acting as Maternity Cover. You will be responsible for ensuring that all labour is accurately planned and forecast in line with labour productivity initiatives and budgets, to meet company and client objectives. You will manage a team of Staffing Coordinators to ensure that internal and external events are effectively planned with labour spend on budget. You will manage appropriate budget lines including casual labour, travel, accommodation and ensure the people strategy is delivered effectively. You will be working as part of the HR & Staffing team, where we are committed to providing our guests with an outstanding experience whether they come to us, hold a business meeting, or host a private dinner at our world-class venue. Main Responsibilities You will:

  • Support the development and implementation of the engagement strategy for the casual workforce
  • Manage the production of wage forecasts for all race day and non-race day business, reporting both forecast and actual costs, reporting to business managers and the finance team on a monthly basis
  • Control management of all other labour related lines (staff transport, accommodation, uniform and laundry)
  • Manage the payroll administration function and ensure that all wages are submitted in a timely manner, fully authorised and including employee numbers
  • Build strong working partnerships with the core agencies to ensure they are delivering against strict KPIs
  • Support the development of our casual workers using Manager Feedback and work with the Training team to build development to ensure succession planning and retention of casual workforce
  • Coach and develop the staffing team, ensuring Aspire objectives are set and regularly reviewed, creating clear succession plans and a fit for purpose staffing function
  • Support the Health & Safety Manager to ensure all relevant H&S policies are in place regarding casual workers

The Ideal Candidate You will have a proven track record of delivering exceptional results in a similar position which included forecasting and planning for the needs of a casual workforce, as well as budget management. Your interpersonal skills will be excellent, and you will respond well to working under pressure. The role holder is expected to work 5 days over 7 so it is essential that you are available to work so weekends and all event days.
