My international client is a market leader in the defence sector.

RoleA member of the Above Water Battlespace (AWB) Account, this role enables programme activities to be delivered on time, budget and to the required scope. The AWB Engineering Team provides support across NSS' maritime above water programmes, aiding progression through the Project Lifecycle from Customer needs to Validation (and closeout).Key Responsibilities* Management of technical Helpdesk requests, liaising directly with the customer* Provides technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of company technical products, programs and systems* Provides expertise for resolving technical problems, troubleshooting product issues and modifying products to customer requirements.* Management and maintenance of System Reference Sets including Hardware and Software* Support production of technical documentation.* Attends customer meetings to present contract metrics.* On-site installation, commissioning, HATs and SATs* Support Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities, including development of technical solutions for obsolescence resolution* Create and provide end user training* Support the preparation and execution of design reviews * Reviewing and challenging technical documentation received from customers and suppliers* Support reviews with the customer and key suppliers* Ensure all responsibilities are delivered in accordance with Company Standards of Conduct and contractual processes* Have awareness of and comply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirements* Carry out any other reasonable management request

TECHNICAL/JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS

Required:* Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering / technical subject (e.g. electrical engineering or similar)* Able to deal with internal and external customers, displaying professionalism, in person, over the phone and via email* Demonstrable knowledge and experience in resolving technical issues with complex systems* Able to use logical and creative thinking to solve technical problems and make decisions* Is a team player, and can create, develop and maintain productive working relationships* Can write and speak clearly and can adapt their language as appropriate to the situation* Strong IT skills, specifically with MS Office products.

Desirable/Acquirable:* Knowledge of marine electronic equipment and/or the marine environment* Knowledge of marine navigation specific standards (e.g. IEC 60945, 61162, 61174)* Familiar with military environmental standards (e.g. DEF STAN 00-35, 59-411)* Knowledge and experience of safety critical systems (SIL 2 / 3)* Experience of conducting EMC/Vibration/Shock qualification testing with external test houses* INCOSE Associate/Chartered Systems Engineering Professional
