Job Title: Software & Commissioning Engineer
Salary: Competitive / Relative to experience
Role Summary:
We are a leading independent provider of industrial process and automation solutions to the food industry and are looking to recruit an experienced Software Engineer to support our ongoing projects in the UK and overseas.
Produce software programs both PLC and SCADA for process control and automation solutions primarily for the food and beverage industry.
The Software Engineer's role will be to interpret customer requirements and translate into the necessary programming to match the application. Where applicable the software engineer will work with the end user to generate a FDS or URS (Functional Design Specification or User Requirement Specification) Once these documents have been generated then the software engineer will expected to either work alone or as part of a team to write comprehensive, bespoke code to successfully control the end users process as per design requirements, you may be required to write simulation code to allow for a SAT (Software Acceptance Test) to take place.
On certain projects where an MCC or other electrical equipment has been designed and built by others in the company you will be expected to be involved in the full testing of this equipment from a software perspective, ensuring all of the control loops and network interfaces are set up and working correctly. You will work with an Electrical Design Engineer to resolve any issues before delivery to the client.

Travel:
As part of the commissioning process you will be required to travel to the End users premises to carry out final process commissioning and acceptance, you will be expected to travel within the UK as well as abroad to such areas as
Europe, the Middle East, Eastern Block Countries, North and South America as well as Asia and the Indian sub continent.
Most commissioning trips will be of 1 to 3 week duration, but on occasion up to 5 weeks away from home may be necessary
Software Proficiencies:
You will be expected to be proficient with one or more of the following manufacturers programming software packages and as part of the interview process you may be requested to undertake a skill test.
