Electrical Technician

Are you a qualified Electrician who holds qualifications such as a HND, HNC OR SVQ?

Do you come from a production/ assembly background?

Carbon60 is working with a leading power supplier to find Electrical Technicians in the Dumbarton area who can assemble and wire Gas, Diesel and HFO Generators. This individual will have experience with air and hand tools, measuring equipment and have a can do attitude.

We're looking for someone who has good communication and organisation skills as well as the ability to work under pressure to deliver tasks on time. Strong attention to detail is key whilst also having a high level of quality and accuracy in their work.

This role is on a 6 month contract basis with on going extensions. It's Monday to Friday with overtime available.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Electrical assembly and wiring of manufacturing products in accordance with work instructions and quality control documentation.
  • Assembly, wiring, interconnection and inspection of DC and 3 phase AC control panels
  • Assembly, wiring, interconnection and inspection of high horse power engines including Gas, Diesel and HFO fuel types
  • Assembly, wiring, interconnection and inspection of 3 phase AC alternators - LV, HV and MV
  • Assembly, wiring, interconnection and inspection of MV Switchboards and HV transformers containing high voltage cabling.
  • Assembly, wiring, interconnection and inspection of MC/TC equipment including OFA compressor motors and chillers
  • Use of air tools, hand tools, torque tools, overhead cranes, lifting and slinging equipment and measuring equipment.
  • Provide training to apprentices and pass on good learning and knowledge.
  • Follow Health and Safety Procedures
  • Working to the high-quality standards of the business and escalating quality issues when they arise.
  • Closely involved in the drive for continuous improvement of our products, taking responsibility for reducing the cost/time taken to build our products.
  • Work in an effective manner with the direct team members and wider Manufacturing cross-functional teams where required.
  • Maintaining work area in a safe and tidy working condition in compliance with 6S standards.
