Mechanical Fitter

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Semi-Skilled Mechanical Fitter at a renowned Defence company. You'll be joining an established team of experienced Mechanics in a Permanent Position. We are looking for Semi-Skilled Mechanical Fitters to join a defence company that specialises in the conversion of commercial vehicles to armoured vehicles with military applications. Due to the nature of the company, we are looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters that will be able to dismantle vehicles and reassemble with bespoke modifications. Responsibilities:

• Stripping of commercial vehicles
• Building bespoke vehicles
• Read and interpret mechanical instructions
• Use a variety of hand and bench tools (torque wrenches etc.)
• Work as part of a team or on your own using initiative

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a mechanical assembling role
• Working from an instruction work log
• Previous experience within a mechanical environment
• Previous experience using workshop tools including torque wrenches, socket wrenches, screw driver etc.
• Forklift licence

Working the hours of Monday - Friday (40 hours per week) As this organisation works on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, all candidates will need to hold sole British Citizenship and will need to be able to pass a self-funded basic DBS (criminal record check)
