We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our client in Hamble, Southampton.

Our client is world renowned manufacturer of next generation fibre and optic products which are utilised within semiconductor applications and medical diagnostic devices, they utilise highly sophisticated laser production techniques in order to meet growing demand from their global customer base.

They are currently in a phase of rapid growth and expansion from both a people perspective and capital expenditure in their facility, and are currently have an opportunity for a manufacturing engineer to join their team.

Manufacturing Engineer Main Responsibilities:

· Manufacturing engineering support for new and existing processes· Identify projects and opportunities for productivity improvement (e.g. yield, cost reduction, time reduction)· Utilise lean and problem solving methodologies to drive continuous improvement· Support development of operations by leading or facilitating process mapping, FMEA and control plans· Support manufacturing team in production process flows, cell design and process optimisation· Process validation of new and existing equipment· Generate and maintain manufacturing support documentation such as SOP's, work instructions, maintenance, calibration and test procedures· Generate and maintain ERP/SAP master data such as routings and work centres· Tool, jig, fixture and gauge design for manufacturing

Manufacturing Engineer- Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

· Degree or equivalent in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Materials Engineering or a related discipline is desirable· Relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering ideally within a high precision industry.· Knowledge and experience of Continuous Improvement methodologies· Experience in using ERP systems (e.g. ORACLE, SAP) would be beneficial · Manufacturing tooling design experience· Sound problem solving and trouble shooting skills· Attention to detail and record keeping
