JCDX Engineer

Navy Command requires a full support arrangement for Maritime operational domain systems for which it is responsible. These are typically Secret and Above Secret, but also include Official systems. They are used ashore and afloat, in Ships, Submarines, Air Squadrons and Commando groups (hereafter collectively referred to as Maritime units). Support includes the full gamut of hardware through to software (hereafter referred to as this service).

This includes onboarding/adoption of new systems and locations/instances into the Navy Digital area of responsibility. 1st/2nd/3rd line support, diagnosis, and defect repair remotely and onsite. Routine upgrades/technology refreshes and temporary/permanent fitting of equipment to meet the unit's missions.

Tasking

The JCDX engineer will be responsible to the JCDX engineering manager for the provision of service delivery, tasking will include but is not limited to:

  • Install/remove fixed and fixed deployed (afloat) JCDX systems.
  • Provide support to fixed deployed and deployed JCDX fitted units as directed by the JCDX Engineering Manager.
  • Produce, evaluate and assure JCDX system diagrams.
  • Produce engineering documentation for new/proposed JCDX installations.
  • Provide JCDX networking and hardware support at Northwood HQ as required.
  • Support JCDX project office engineers at Northwood during planned installations/upgrade periods.
  • Co-ordinate with fixed site FM contractors to deliver JCDX services.
  • Configure and build JCDX equipment as directed by the Engineering Manager.
  • Attend meetings, working groups and conferences as directed by the project team.

To be considered for this role you will have the following:

Desirable Skills

  • Active DV Clearance
  • Experience with JCDX
  • Network/Systems engineering experience
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
