We have a fantastic opportunity for a Leachate Technician to join our team in Sussex, working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Reporting to the Leachate Manager, you will undertake the safe and effective monitoring, process control and optimisation of the company's leachate collection, treatment, and disposal assets in line with regulatory compliance. As an experienced and detail-oriented individual, you will carry out monitoring, analysis and record keeping on the status of the company's leachate management assets, with compliance, health and safety being a key priority in your role. You will also be entrusted with the supervision of any internal or external personnel, such as contractors or agency staff, working on site. This is an exciting and collaborative role, a combination of both planned and reactive work, working with colleagues and other technicians across the Landfill Energy business to enhance both Landfill Gas (LFG) production and site sustainability. Duties will Include:

  • Basic Maintenance tasks on pumping, storage, transfer & treatment assets.
  • Replacing filters, compression & flange fittings, well dipping & monitoring.
  • Responsible for upkeep and calibration of all plant, equipment & tools used in monitoring, operation and maintenance of leachate management assets in line with routine & planned maintenance schedules.

Our ideal Leachate Technician will have:

  • Experience of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Relevant practical experience in an associated discipline.
  • Excellent and innovative technical problem-solving skills.
  • An understanding of landfill engineering (specifically leachate collection), as advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence as a van and fuel card will be supplied.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience of working in the Landfill Gas (LFG), Water Treatment or Environmental monitoring sectors or a graduate with a recent Environmental Science degree.
