NAVY DIGITAL OPERATIONS ROOM SHIFT WORKER

Navy Digital Operations Centre (NDOC) (Navy Command)

Background:

The NDOC role is an outsourced service Carbon60 contract to Navy Command for the NDOC team.

In this role you will provide Support and Data Management for the NDOC. Incorporating multiple information systems that collectively contribute to the better understanding of the Maritime Domain and situational awareness.

Located in a military facility, successful applicants will play a key role as a shift watchkeeper in an expanding team that will provide 24/7/365 cover. The role forms part of a team that manages digital data providing outputs to customers globally.

The primary purpose is to develop and maintain the shipping picture within specified areas of interest utilising existing systems and procedures. A good understanding of the tactical situation will be required to support the accurate compilation of the NDOC picture.

Other tasking may include, but is not limited to:

• Liaising with joint forces operations.
• Cross referencing multiple data sources.
• Data input.
• Processing information.
• Provide maritime situational awareness.

Person Specifications

To be considered for this role you will ideally have the following:

Desirable

• MOD Security.
• Experience within Electronic Warfare
• Picture management experience.
• Proven leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Able to follow laid down procedures.
• Experience of working set shift patterns and unsociable hours.
• Familiar with RN maritime systems including but not limited to:

JCDX, SKYSIREN, LC2, CENTRIX and NSWAN

• Background knowledge of military shipping would be advantageous.

Shift Pattern

Successful applicants will be put into a set shift rota with limited flexibility. Leave is allocated over set periods and there is limited scope for change. The shifts follow the below pattern and are for a period of 12 hours each shift:

• 7 days on shift (0700hr - 1900hr)
• 7 days of operational support (standby/on call period)
• 7 nights on shift (1900hr - 0700hr)
• 14 days leave

Contract Information:

• This contract will be on a PAYE basis.
• Salary - 31k annually.
• Base location will be Naval HQ site- Portsdown Technology Park
• Start date - ASAP
• Contract running until November 2023
