Hardware Engineer - ContractPlease note only Sole British Nationals with existing SC Security Clearance need applyWorking on cutting-edge technology and capabilities, you'll be updating existing hardware, selecting components, and supporting testing and implementation within an important National Defence Submarine Programme.With continual expansion and success of the Hardware Engineering team, this role is for a creative and innovative Hardware Engineer who is design orientated with CAD capabilities and functional safety experience.Your Responsibilities: * Lead Electrical design engineering for existing and new control systems for Naval applications * Lead the creation, modification, maintenance and management of electrical designs * Lead component selection and system implementation * Analyse and justify electrical based designs and component selection in accordance with functional safety standards * Be the lead technical hardware customer facing point of contact to deliver on-time qualityYour Experience: * Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar level of experience * Understanding of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems up to SIL2 in accordance with IEC 61508 * Understanding of installation, commissioning and testing of PLC based control systems * Ability to lead on the creation and management of electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical * Ability to analyse hardware components for suitable form/fit/function, including functional safety aspects
