General Labourer - Driver
B30 3ES, Kings Norton, Birmingham.
Part Time: Monday - Friday between 1 and 3 flexible days per week.
Initial temporary contract which may turn in to long term work.
The company is a leading UK engineering business specialising in major mechanical and electrical installations within the manufacturing industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes pipework and plant installations, planned and preventive maintenance, facilities management along with a variety of other engineering services. This is a fantastic opportunity for a general labourer - driver to join the company supporting high-profile projects across the Midlands.
As a suitably qualified and experienced general labourer - driver, you will be working on a variety of projects associated with the manufacturing industry. With particular responsibility to safely deliver one off high value bespoke items to sites across the Midlands. Specific responsibilities will be to deliver by car or small van purpose made valve sets, vessels and other components, from the workshop to sites situated in Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Derbyshire. Other duties will include working alongside a mechanical fitter to assist with the installation of these components along with other general labouring, fitting, drilling, cleaning, assembling, spanner work and workshop maintenance as necessary or as required.
Based ideally in the Birmingham you will need to live within a short commutable distance of B30 3ES.
Full clean driving license (max 3 points) which allows you to drive a van up to 3.5 tonne is required for this position and previous experience in a similar role is preferred but is not essential.
Driving licence with Category C1 up to 7.5 tonne (or pre 1997) would be a definite advantage.
The hours will be part time between 1 and 3 days a week for the right candidate and the role doesn't include high pressure, multi-drop courier style deliveries.
CSCS or similar Health and Safety training is preferred.
In return for your experience you will receive a salary between £10.00 and £13.00 per hour as well as a range of benefits associated with a market leading organisation.
