Maintenance Production Operator

Permanent Position

Salary: £32,500 (inclusive of shift allowance)

Excellent Benefits: 25 days holiday entitlement plus UK bank holidays (Increasing with service) - Contributory pension - Bonus Scheme.

Hours of work: 3 shift pattern, 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm - 6am.

Location: Newport

You will be responsible for operating and maintaining plant machinery, ongoing training and development will be provided.

Transferrable experience or skills could include:

• Understanding/experience of pressure systems, pressure vacuums, steam boiler systems.
• Mechanical understanding: this could include pumps, treatment plants etc.
• Maintenance of mechanical plant equipment or commercial/manufacturing plumbing systems.
• Use of heavy machinery, plant equipment, large vehicles, or cranes.
• Computer literacy.
• Forklift driver.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices within a manufacturing environment.
• Full driving licence required.

Essential criteria will include:

• A health & safety mind-set, putting the safety of yourself and colleagues above all else.
• Good literacy & numeracy skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative.
• Ability to understand standard operating procedures
• Experience working with mechanical equipment such as pumps, plant equipment, heavy machinery.
