The Role: I am currently recruiting for a HSE Site Manager with EPC experience for a permanent / staff position in Viotia, Greece to join my Client's construction team. The HSE site manager will work closely with the project engineers and the project managers within my Client's team to manage the on-site operations during the construction period ensuring on schedule completion and compliance with HSE Regs, as well as externally with the; construction subcontractors, site visitors, local authorities, local residents and landowners

Your role will involve, but not be limited to:

  • Being responsible for the administration, co-ordination and every day hands-on involvement in all Health Safety and Environmental issues
  • Ensure that safe systems of work are in place with the subcontractors carrying out works at my Clients renewable energy plants. This includes liaising with Stakeholders representatives and local Authorities when required.
  • Reports regularly to the QHSE Manager and Project Manager and works closely with them as well as the engineers and workers of the site

Essential Skills / Qualifications:You will be expected to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, preferably Civil Engineering
  • 3 + years' experience as a Safety Engineer or HSE supervisory roles in construction projects
  • Knowledge of local and European HSE legislation and regulations, codes of practice and standards, especially regarding construction works
  • Ability to develop and keep records of all QHSE documents required by legislation and company policy
  • Ability to efficiently develop and implement all HSE programs & training on site
  • Ability to prepare QHSE documentation for clients/projects as per the requirements in both English and Greek languages
  • Experience of conducting HSE Inspections and Audits - producing relevant Reports
  • Experience of conducting Accident / Incident investigation, analysis, and reporting
  • Experience of managing subcontractors and ensuring all HSE rules are efficiently communicated, implemented, and monitored
  • Ability to motivate co-workers in QHSE performance
  • Ability to work within matrix organization and directly manage others
  • Good analytical thinking with the ability to spot noncompliance and potential risks
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong knowledge of QHSE Management Systems (OHSAS 180001/ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001) is desirable
  • Qualifications in HSE and in Electrical works are desirable
  • Must be legally entitled to work in the EU
