Carbon60 is pleased to be partnering with a specialist manufacturing business in the Wiltshire area. For the right candidate, this position offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of engineering, for a global market leader. The position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and will be a pivotal hire within the department.


Mechanical Engineer, engaged in the manufacture, sub-assembly and install of robot welding equipment, sealing systems, inspection systems and bespoke equipment.


Equipment build from assembly / component drawings & parts lists.

Standard & Manufactured parts ordering / receiving / organisation for assembly

Resource management if using support contract engineers

Cell risk assessment planning

Offline assembly area layout & preparation

Mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulic systems assembly and functional testing / adjustment.

Basic robot point to point programming where required

Measurement of critical features i.e., laser, camera etc.

Longevity and functionality testing of completed equipment

Install into plant/Production line

Technical File & Shipping Documentation preparation, evaluation & validation.

Spend tracking & management against budget.

Progress tracking to schedule target

Manpower/contractor control

Manufacturing project leadership

Daily & weekly reporting to direct manager.

Qualifications & experience:-

Minimum of ONC or NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering discipline.

Proven track record in manufacturing/production environment

In depth experience of:

Weld jig & tooling manufacturing/assembly

CMM systems

Welding techniques & equipment

Robot system set up, functional programming & interlocking

Vision system teaching

Equipment service install

Sealer systems programming

Machine shop processes

Safety systems (Rams/Safe cell entry)

Project management skills

Assembly & installation planning (Microsoft project)

Understanding of Quality management systems (ISO9001)
