Carbon60 are looking to recruit an Mechanical Estimator to work for a large M&E contractor based in the Leeds area.

The Company:

Our Client is one of the UK's largest M&E Contractors with work covering the M&E Installation, LV/HV, Process Plant, Instrumentation, FM, Power Generation sectors.

We are looking for an Electrical Estimator to join their M&E Contracting Division, the role will be to prepare cost plans and submit accurate estimates for design & build projects which secure profitable contract work.

The role involved meeting clients to discuss their design requirements and prepare estimates of costs for tender bids and M&E projects. You will be required to analyse technical specifications and designs for contracts of varying size and values and identify and recommend solutions.

The role also involves obtaining materials / resource availability and pricing structures from potential suppliers and sub-contractors and arranges sub-contractor enquiry documents to ensure accuracy and competitiveness of estimates through the supply chain.

The Person:

The Ideal Candidate will have sound Mechanical / Site specific knowledge combined with a previous craft apprenticeship (or recognised equivalent) and have excellent Maths & IT skills and a good commercial acumen.

A good understanding of technical drawings and have the ability to undertake material "take off" quantities from drawings or bill of quantities and possess experience of preparation of "Schedule of Rates".

Demonstrate a knowledge of commercial terms, contractual requirements and a proven track record of assessing the levels of risk on projects is required.

Benefits:

The position is working a 37 hour week Mon - Fri and offers a excellent base salary around the £42-43k mark, negotiable depending on previous experience along with an excellent benefits package including Company Car / Car Allowance, Annual Bonus, Pension etc.
