Carbon60 are looking to recruit an Electrical Estimator to work for a rapidly expanding M&E contractor based in the North Manchester area.

The Company:

Our Client has been established for over 40 years and is a rapidly expanding M&E Contractors with work covering the M&E Building Services Installations and Facilities Maintenance work within the Commercial & Industrial sectors.

Due to substantial growth & expansion in the North West area, We are looking for an Electrical Estimator to join their M&E Contracting Division, the role will be to prepare cost plans and submit accurate estimates for design & build projects which secure profitable contract work.

The role involves the preparation and estimates of costs for tender bids and M&E projects. You will be required to analyse technical specifications and designs for contracts of varying size and values and identify and recommend solutions.

The role also involves obtaining materials / resource availability and pricing structures from potential materials suppliers and arranges sub-contractor enquiry documents to ensure accuracy and competitiveness of estimates through the supply chain.

The Person:

The Ideal Candidate will have sound Electrical / Mechanical / Site specific knowledge combined with a previous craft apprenticeship (or recognised equivalent) and have excellent Maths & IT skills and a good commercial acumen.

A good understanding of technical drawings and have the ability to undertake material "take off" quantities from drawings or bill of quantities and possess experience of preparation of "Schedule of Rates".

Demonstrate a previous knowledge of Estimating for Electrical Installation projects with a knowledge of contractual requirements and a proven track record of assessing the levels of risk on projects is required.
