We are looking to recruit a Principle Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer to work for our client, one of the UK's leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management companies.
Our client has a portfolio of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERF's) plants across the UK which are vital in supporting the UK's ambition to reduce waste in an efficient and effective manner, helping to reduce the impact of waste on climate change. After reducing, reusing and recycling as much as possible, the ' provide the infrastructure to efficiently recover energy from residual waste.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal C&I Engineer to join our team across the South of England to support the testing, repair, maintenance, root cause analysis for all C&I equipment across the ERF fleet.
You will work with the local engineering team in planned and unplanned maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient operation of ERF's. You will develop and monitor condition-based C&I maintenance programs; providing technical support to the ERF fleet C&I engineering teams.
You'll be responsible for creating detailed scopes of work / C&I engineering specifications ready to be sent out to tender and manage statutory inspections, ensuring all documentation is completed and up to date. The Principal Engineer will work strive for best available techniques (BAT) and continuous improvement to ensure maintenance plans and targets are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the plant.
The ideal Principal C&I Engineer will have the following Skills & Experience:
- Extensive and proven knowledge within the ERF or Power Generation industry.
- Knowledge of Siemens S6/S7 PLC's and Valmet DNA DCS Technology & control systems.
- Experience in C&I engineering of process industry or power plants DCS / SCADA experience.
- Drive standardised maintenance of C&I equipment via utilisation of CMMS.
- Change management skills and the experience of implementing systems and procedures.
- B.Eng (Hons) or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
- Appropriate technical qualifications.
Suitable candidates interested in this position can be based anywhere across the South of England ideally within commuting distance along the M4 corridor from London, Oxford, South Midlands, Bristol & Cardiff, but this may also involve some occasional travel to other sites across the north of England.
