Technical Support Engineer (E/I)

Our client are a family owned company located in West Bromwich in the West Midlands. We are specialists in organo-sulphur synthesis and high pressure hydrogenation supplying organic chemistry services to a global market in quantities from grams to multi-tonnes. We manufacture intermediates for the Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical and Speciality Chemical industries as well as many others and our team of chemists are experts in custom synthesis, contract manufacture and process optimisation.

We have a vacancy for a Technical Support Engineer (E/I) and are looking to recruit for an immediate start.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience listed below:-

• Electrical and Instrumentation preventative and reactive maintenance work.
• Electrical and Instrumentation plant installation and modification work.
• Statutory inspections.
• The use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
• The ability to use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals and other technical information to assist with all works.
• Work in accordance with the company safe systems of work and permit to work systems.
• Preferably have a good understanding of ATEX requirements, both Gas & Vapour (Ex01-04) and Dust (Ex05-06).

Qualifications/Training

• You will have a recognised electrical apprenticeship and educated to City and Guilds level 3 or ONC (RQF level 3) in an Electrical discipline as a minimum.
• 17^th edition IEE wiring regulations as a minimum, preferably 18^th edition.
• Ideally you would also have training with MEWP's, Abrasive wheels and Confined Spaces.

Career development will be possible with both internal and external training available.

Salary is dependant on experience and includes 100 banked hours, plus 200 hrs paid holiday, working a 9.5 hour (7am to 5pm, ½ hour lunch) days only 4 on, 4 off, shift pattern, includes paid sick scheme, free life assurance, BHSF scheme and access to a stakeholder pension scheme, based in West Bromwich, West Midlands.
