Thermal Systems Lead Engineer Our client is revolutionizing e-Mobility from the ground-up. Their disruptive corners and fully flat, ultra-modular Electric Vehicle platforms are set to become the standard for electric vehicles. Providing complete design freedom to build mission specific EVs, these will provide maximum room for passengers, cargo and batteries with the smallest footprint and help reduce carbon emissions for a greener world.They work with leading automotive players worldwide and technology companies to ensure the development, engineering and manufacturing.Currently they are looking for a Thermal Systems Lead Engineer within the Thermal Team to support their rapid growth.Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Thermal Team responsible for all Thermal Systems including Coolant & Refrigerant Circuits
  • Develop state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle Cooling and Refrigerant Systems for scalable platforms
  • Create Thermal System concepts from First Principles
  • Lead the creation of Thermal System Schematics
  • Lead the definition of Thermal System Functions and Control Logic
  • Ensure Design for Manufacture & Design for Service requirements are accomplished
  • Engage with multiple suppliers on a number of exciting projects
  • Ensure timely Engineering Release of Prototype & Series Production Thermal System components
  • Lead the creation of Thermal System Design Specifications
  • Lead Quality History Reviews and Design Failure Mode & Effects Analyses for Design Verification Plan generation and Engineering Design Standards
  • Act as Thermal & Aero Attribute Lead to ensure achievement of all Functional, Quality, & Financial Targets
  • Lead the Virtual & Physical Build of Thermal Systems
  • Lead the Virtual & Physical Verification of Thermal Systems
  • Identify & assess Intellectual Property Rights opportunities
  • Lead the completion of Final Engineering Sign-Off

Qualifications/ Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience of Thermal Systems & Components
  • Skilled at team leadership & management
  • Skilled at engaging and collaborating with international colleagues & suppliers
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels
  • Managing workload in a fast-paced environment with potential for changing priorities
  • Working experience of Microsoft Office products including SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
