Buyer

Our client, an electronics manufacturer, have the opportunity for a Buyer to join their procurement team. The buyer is a permanent position and will be a hybrid role, with occasional visits to there site in Hampshire. However, training will be completed on site on the first week. Job purpose- BuyerThe Buyer will be responsible for purchasing purchasing materials as required on customer bills of materials and meeting the requirements of the manufacturing plan. Key Responsibilities & Tasks- Buyer:

• Purchasing and expediting electro-mechanical components
• Optimising prices, contracts and delivery times
• Monitoring supplier performance
• Administering quotes
• Negotiating contracts and material prices
• Placing orders

Experience & Person Specification:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent would be desirable
• Gained or working towards CIPS Qualification would be advantageous
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages
• Previous experience of procurement within an electronics or manufacturing environment would be desirable
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Good communication skills, written and oral
• Good attention to detail
• Proactive and flexible approach
