As part of our continued commitment to helping drive STEM forward, we are delighted to announce that Carbon60 have partnered with ERIKS, a leading Specialised Industrial Service Provider, as they launch exciting apprenticeship programmes, designed to discover and develop the next generation of engineering and sales & service talent, help them build a career and bridge the skills gap in STEM industries.

Who are ERIKS?

Built over 80 years of passionate hard work and experience, ERIKS have vast technical and engineering expertise in a variety of areas and specialisms, including bearings and lubrications, power transmissions and fluid power, industrial MRO and safety, and much more.

From their UK-wide network of local distribution and specialised engineering service centres, and a new Fulfilment Centre of Expertise and UK Headquarters, in Oldbury, West Midlands, ERIKS offers a truly complete solution, from an extensive product range, comprehensive engineering services right through to supply solutions.

What are ERIKS’ new Apprenticeship programmes?

Designed to not only expand and futureproof their own workforce, but also help to shape the future of engineering and other STEM industries overall, ERIKS’ Apprenticeship Programmes are a gateway to an exciting, wonderfully rewarding career.

With the help of Carbon60, ERIKS are keen to find talented, passionate apprentices – particularly those who already have a keen interest in engineering – and offer them the chance to gain vital experience of engineering, new skills and knowledge, as they work towards a Level 3 Engineering Fitter qualification.

There are also for Sales & Service apprenticeship opportunities available, in which chosen candidates can will be given the chance to learn and develop in one of ERIKS’ busy service centres alongside experienced Advisors, Team Leaders, and Managers, communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis, working towards Level 3 and 4 qualifications and a great career in Sales and Service.

ERIKS are inviting applications from anyone who is willing and ready to make the absolute most of this fantastic opportunity – from people who have perhaps just left school or college and are just getting started in their career, to those who are simply looking for a new direction in their career journey. What’s more, there are placements with ERIKS in a variety of locations around the UK, so these opportunities are available far and wide.

And what are the entry requirements, duration, and benefits?

As mentioned, this apprenticeship is open to anyone who wishes to apply, though there is a requirement for applicants to have 3 GCSE’s (Grades 9-4 or A-C) or equivalent for the Engineering programme; or 5 GCSE’s, including for Maths and English (Grades 9-4 or A-C), or equivalent for the Sales & Service programme. ERIKS are not expecting their apprentices to have prior knowledge or experience, just a willingness to work, learn and grow.

The Engineering course will run for 48 months, while the duration for the Sales & Service course is 36 months. During these periods – and during any future employment with ERIKS of course – all successful applicants will benefit from the following:

Where are ERIKS recruiting? 

ERIKS are looking for candidates across the UK to join their apprenticeships in a variety of locations.

Engineering Fitter locations: Aberdeen, Cardiff, Castle Donnington, Chesterfield, Grimsby, Haydock, Leeds, Leicester, Norwich, Southampton, and Swansea.

Sales & Service locations: Aberdeen, Gateshead, Pensnett, and Swansea
