Working Pattern: Full-Time, 5 Days per Week
Start Date: November 2025
Duration: 18 Months (Resident Role)
Rate: €Negotiable (Daily Rate) + Reimbursable Expenses
Clearance Requirements: Background Checks & Valid Right to Work in Portugal


Role Overview:


We are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Coordinator to oversee HS&E compliance during the construction of a 50MWp Solar PV Plant in Portugal. This long-term, site-based role involves supporting the Owner and monitoring the EPC contractor's health, safety, and environmental performance across civil, electrical, and mechanical scopes.


Key Responsibilities:


  • HS&E Coordination:
  • Assist the Owner in preparing, updating, and submitting the prior notice.
  • Advise the Owner on their legal responsibilities under Portuguese HS&E legislation.

  • HS&E Plan Review:
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the EPC contractor's HS&E plan.
  • Ensure alignment with project requirements and regulatory standards.

  • Safety Inspections:
  • Conduct regular safety inspections in conjunction with general site inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and legal obligations.

  • Accident Investigation & Reporting Review:
  • Evaluate the EPC contractor's procedures for accident investigation and reporting.
  • Ensure incidents are properly documented and corrective actions are implemented.

  • Emergency Response Plan Review:
  • Assess the adequacy and readiness of the EPC contractor's emergency response plans.
  • Recommend improvements where necessary.

    Candidate Profile:

    • Proven experience in HS&E coordination within large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
    • Strong knowledge of Portuguese health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Ability to work independently and maintain a consistent presence on-site.
    • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Must be eligible to work in Portugal and pass background checks.

    Additional Information:

    • Travel, accommodation, and other expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with Portuguese law, subject to pre-approval.
    • This is a resident role requiring full-time presence at the project sites in Trancoso and Sernancelhe.
