Senior EC&I Design Engineer
Overview:
Join our clients as a Senior Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Design Engineer, where you'll be a key technical authority within our in-house engineering team. You'll lead the design and delivery of electrical control panels and associated systems, supporting projects from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead EC&I design activities, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
- Act as technical authority for EC&I discipline, supporting the Engineering Manager in achieving business goals.
- Translate client specifications into robust engineering solutions.
- Manage design phases, change control, and support manufacturing and construction stages.
- Plan and execute tasks to meet project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Interface directly with clients, managing expectations and scope.
- Approve engineering estimates and monitor project costs and progress.
Ideal Candidate:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in regulated sectors such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power generation.
- Strong theoretical and practical EC&I knowledge.
- Skilled in design, testing, and evaluation of electrical systems.
Desirable Skills:
- Low Voltage Switchgear, MCC, and Variable Drive System Design.
- Control/Automation System Design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, and AMTECH.
Security Clearance:
Existing clearance preferred; candidates must be eligible for UK security vetting.
