Business Controller / Management Accountant
📍 Location: Belfast (Hybrid - up to 2 days WFH after training)
🕒 Contract: 12 months (with potential extension)
💼 Rate: Up to £46.82/hr (Umbrella) or £35/hr (PAYE), depending on experience
📅 Start Date: Expected October (subject to project go-live)
📝 IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Are you a qualified accountant with a passion for driving financial performance and partnering with operational teams? We are seeking a proactive and analytical Business Controller / Management Accountant to join a dynamic finance team supporting a high-value, multi-stakeholder business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes across business units.
• Partner with operational managers to identify and validate improvement projects, including ROI and business case analysis.
• Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and performance analysis to both local and central teams.
• Provide financial insight and challenge to support operational decision-making and risk mitigation.
• Evaluate business cases for investments and improvement initiatives.
• Oversee financial control activities across recurring costs, inventory, non-recurring costs, and capital expenditure.

What We're Looking For

• Qualifications: CIMA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 2 years post-qualification experience in a manufacturing or commercial setting.
• Systems: Proficiency in SAP or similar financial reporting tools.
• Skills: Strong communication, analytical thinking, and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience: Background in aviation, defence, or manufacturing sectors is highly desirable.

Additional Information

• Work Pattern: 35 hours/week over 4.5 days
• Travel: Occasional travel to Broughton site may be required.
• Interview Process: One-stage, onsite in Belfast
• Security Clearance: BPSS+
