The HV Designer role offers a chance to work on a variety of high-voltage systems, from substations and transmission lines to distribution networks.

Job Title: HV Designer
Base Location: Remote in UK with occasional travel to Slough
Hourly Rate: £25.64 - £34.48, depending on skills and experience, via PAYE or CIS
Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday - Friday (37.5 hours) | 3 month contract with possible extension

Key Responsibilities of the HV Designer:

• Design high-voltage systems, including detailed engineering for LV to 33kV projects
• Conduct calculations and simulations to optimise system performance and cost-effectiveness
• Liaise with DNO/IDNO and ICP to obtain design approvals
• Manage the design process and support the customer throughout the project lifecycle
• Specify technical and procurement items, including transformers, switchgear, and cabling
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to integrate HV systems into larger projects
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Degree or HND in a relevant Engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience
• Proven experience in electrical distribution design, from LV up to 33kV
• Proficient in using AutoCAD and modelling software such as Amtech/DIALux and Digisilent
• Sound understanding of distribution networks and experience working with ICP/DNO/IDNO
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence
