Contract: Until 08/04/2026 (potential extension)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Pay Rate: Scaled pay rate around £25ph - Umbrella option available
Security Clearance: BPSS
About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Lifting and Handling Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering Safety Department at the Broughton site. You will play a key role in ensuring safe and compliant lifting operations, supporting both day-to-day business and future projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide LOLER advice and guidance to support operational business queries.
- Create and modify Lift Plans and Lifting Instructions.
- Act as LOLER Appointed Person for abnormality management.
- Conduct risk assessments and method statements to ensure legal compliance.
- Perform LOLER compliance checks and surveillance.
- Support continuous improvement and future projects as LOLER Appointed Person.
Essential:
- Background and experience in Lifting and Handling.
- Knowledge of LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and BS:7121.
- Previous experience in roles such as Slinger, Banks-person, Crane Driver.
- Preferably a Lifting Specialist, Supervisor, or LOLER Coach.
- Lifting Appointed Person A62/A61 or equivalent qualification.
- Technical background in the lifting industry, with knowledge of legislation, regulations, and codes of practice (BS7121, LOLER, PUWER).
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting continuous improvement and future projects.
- Experience in abnormality management and compliance surveillance.
