The Role of the HSE Plant Manager


As the HSE Plant Manager, you will be responsible for managing all health, safety, and environmental activities at this company's power plant. You will ensure that operations are carried out safely, responsibly, and in compliance with the highest industry standards and company policies. This is a pivotal role that will allow you to shape the organisation's safety culture and drive continuous improvement in performance.

Key Responsibilities of the HSE Plant Manager:

  • Lead the implementation of the plant's health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across all departments and levels of the organisation
  • Identify and manage workplace risks through inspections, audits, and incident investigations
  • Coordinate emergency response planning and ensure readiness for potential incidents
  • Provide HSE training and guidance to employees and contractors

The Ideal HSE Plant Manager


The company is seeking an experienced HSE Plant Manager with a proven track record in leading health, safety, and environmental initiatives within a power generation or similar heavy industrial environment. You should possess a strong understanding of applicable regulations and a keen eye for identifying and mitigating risks.

Requirements for the HSE Plant Manager Role:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum
  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in HSE management within the power generation or similar heavy industrial sectors
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective HSE systems and programs
