Job Title: Shipping Officer

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Shipping Officer to join a dynamic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing export shipments globally via road and air, ensuring compliance with internal processes and international regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Arrange UK and international transport movements, liaising with export control, customs, and freight forwarders.
• Prepare and manage export documentation including hazardous goods notes and customs formalities.
• Maintain registers for exports, transport, and hazardous goods.
• Support compliance with export licences and transport legislation.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure audit compliance through accurate administrative record-keeping.

Essential Experience:

• Proven background in export/customs operations within engineering or manufacturing.
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of incoterms, tariff codes, CPC codes, and export legislation.
• Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively across teams.
• Known Consignor training (or willingness to undertake).
