The company is a UK leading organisation specialising in major mechanical and electrical installations within the food processing industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes process pipework and plant installations, planned and preventive maintenance, environmental services and many other engineering services associated with the food and beverage industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Workshop Manager to join the mechanical engineering division, supporting process pipework and plant installation projects across the West Midlands and the South of England from the company's regional office in Stirchley.
Duties
As a suitably qualified and experienced Workshop Manager you will be working at the companies engineering workshop in Stirchley, Birmingham. Primary responsibilities will include leading, organising, planning, and supervising the day to day activities of the workshop, with a particular focus on controlling the quality of all items produced. Specific duties will include overseeing the fabrication and welding of stainless steel vessels, secondary steel work, process pipework spools, gantries, walkways and guards along with many one off ancillary pieces associated with the food industry. Other duties will include managing attendance and performance, ensuring the correct maintenance schedule for all machinery and accurately recording the movement of all company assets.
About You
Based ideally in the West Midlands you will need to live within a short commutable distance of B30 2PF and be prepared to travel to sites as necessary.
Previous fabrication and welding trade experience, ideally within a food production environment along with demonstrable experience of managing a fabrication and welding workshop. A sound knowledge of process pipework and plant installations is also preferred.
