Location: Broughton, full time on-site requirement
Contract Duration: Until December 2026 (Inside IR35)
Pay Rate: Up to £52.00 per hour Umbrella (PAYE equivalent available)
Hours: Standard 35 hours per week
Role Overview
A leading aerospace engineering organisation is seeking a Design Concession Approver (Lead Design Engineer) to join their team in Broughton. The successful candidate will provide engineering expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality wing components to final assembly lines. This role is integral to identifying improvements, conducting investigations, and delivering technical solutions for structural and systems modifications, with a focus on cost, rate, and quality enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design investigations and formulate technical solutions for manufacturing non-conformances and design investigations, ensuring all design, airworthiness, and safety requirements are met.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Operate as a lead design engineer and hold (or have previously held) design approval signatory status, particularly for manufacturing non-conformances (T200).
- Act as a focal point for technical issues and governance, providing guidance and technical mentoring to engineering team members.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency, ensuring robust lessons learnt and feedback processes are maintained.
- Report on critical technical issues to functional and delivery managers.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships across the wider engineering network.

- Excellent communication skills, able to simplify and convey complex activities to stakeholders.
- Demonstrates resilience and thrives in an open, trusting environment.
- Holds (or has previously held) Concession Design Approval (T200).
- Non-conformance experience is essential.
- Previous concession approval experience is advantageous.
