Location: Oxford, England, United Kingdom
Job Title: Fabric Technician
We are seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to join our team in Oxford. This role involves delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services across a range of building fabric and associated systems.
Shift Pattern:

  • 4 days on / 4 days off
  • Day shift: 07:00 - 19:00

Role Summary

  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance tasks within the team.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Liaise with client representatives regarding maintenance and repair requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys and prepare Works Requests, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments for planned works.
  • Carry out repairs to floor and wall coverings.
  • Perform ceiling tile repairs and replacements.
  • Undertake general building and installation works as required.
  • Responsible for lighting maintenance, including lamp changes, filter changes on AHUs/FCUs, and basic plumbing tasks.
  • Use PDA systems for work updates and communication.
  • Complete reactive, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) jobs, and minor project works efficiently.
  • Ensure all tasks comply with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Undertake additional reasonable duties as directed by the Technical Services Manager.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in fabric maintenance and carpentry.
  • Background in high-profile work environments.
  • City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in carpentry.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Proficient in PC use and digital systems.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, instructions, and processes.
  • Self-organised with the ability to manage tasks and determine material requirements.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, including COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessments.
  • Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH and/or NEBOSH are desirable.
  • Flexibility to work beyond contractual hours when required.
