Job Title: Fabric Technician
We are seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to join our team in Oxford. This role involves delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services across a range of building fabric and associated systems.
Shift Pattern:
- 4 days on / 4 days off
- Day shift: 07:00 - 19:00
Role Summary
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance tasks within the team.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed within agreed timescales.
- Liaise with client representatives regarding maintenance and repair requirements.
- Conduct site surveys and prepare Works Requests, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments for planned works.
- Carry out repairs to floor and wall coverings.
- Perform ceiling tile repairs and replacements.
- Undertake general building and installation works as required.
- Responsible for lighting maintenance, including lamp changes, filter changes on AHUs/FCUs, and basic plumbing tasks.
- Use PDA systems for work updates and communication.
- Complete reactive, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) jobs, and minor project works efficiently.
- Ensure all tasks comply with Health and Safety regulations.
- Undertake additional reasonable duties as directed by the Technical Services Manager.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabric maintenance and carpentry.
- Background in high-profile work environments.
- City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in carpentry.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Proficient in PC use and digital systems.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, instructions, and processes.
- Self-organised with the ability to manage tasks and determine material requirements.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, including COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessments.
- Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH and/or NEBOSH are desirable.
- Flexibility to work beyond contractual hours when required.
