Instructional Systems Designer (ISD)

Location: Various sites available within the Uk. Possible Hybrid work

Are you passionate about creating world-class training solutions that make a real difference? Join our Training Development Team and play a vital role in delivering mission-critical training for the Defence and Security of our customers.

As an Instructional Systems Designer, you'll use your expertise in adult learning principles and instructional design to develop innovative training solutions that ensure our customers can operate and maintain our platforms and services safely. This is a dynamic role where you'll collaborate with technical experts, apply new methodologies, and continuously improve both our products and you.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct analysis to evaluate customer technical training needs and determine appropriate content, objectives, and course ware design.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate custom technical training materials and assessments, ensuring complex content meets audience needs.
  • Deliver training services to the highest technical and quality standards, complying with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and uphold safety standards.
  • Gather data for proposals and assist with reporting on training projects and curricula.
  • Coach, mentor, and guide others in instructional system design principles and methodologies.
  • Innovate new instructional strategies, methods, and technologies to enhance training delivery.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 3 year's experience designing high-quality learning solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Experience developing instructor-led and distance learning course ware, ideally in aerospace, energy, transport, or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Systems Approach to Training (SAT) or MOD JSP 822 and DSAT.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across UK sites.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including remotely.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Adobe Storyline 360.
  • Knowledge of rotary/fixed wing aircrew, mission crew, ground crew, mechanical or avionics systems (not essential).
