Principal FPGA Design Engineer (Contract)

Contract: 6 months outside IR35

Travel: Occasional UK travel

We're looking for a Principal FPGA Design Engineer to take ownership of complex FPGA architectures and deliver innovative solutions for advanced systems. If you thrive on technical leadership and hands-on design, this is your opportunity to make an impact.

What You'll Do

• Define FPGA architecture from top-level system requirements
• Design, implement, and debug VHDL-based FPGA hardware
• Develop verification test benches and vectors
• Produce clear technical documentation and specifications
• Lead multiple projects, manage resources, and report progress
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical training
• Liaise with customers and suppliers on firmware matters
• Contribute to high-level product definition and design reviews

What You Bring

• 10+ years' FPGA design experience
• Expertise in VHDL and FPGA verification
• Proven ability to deliver complex designs on time and within budget
• Experience with multi-FPGA systems
• Strong communication skills
• Background in radar or DSP applications
