Location: Broughton, UK - Onsite
Contract: Until 08/04/2026 (likely extension)
Pay Rate:
- Up to £38.00/hr Umbrella (DOE)
- Up to £28.41/hr PAYE (DOE)
Hours: 35 per week (overtime paid at premium rates)
About the Role
A leading engineering organisation is seeking a skilled Lifting & Handling Engineer to join their Manufacturing Engineering Safety function. You'll act as a subject‑matter expert on lifting operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient activity in line with LOLER and recognised industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert LOLER advice and operational guidance.
- Create and update Lift Plans and Lifting Instructions.
- Act as a LOLER Appointed Person for lifting‑related incidents/abnormalities.
- Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure legal compliance.
- Carry out LOLER compliance checks and surveillance activities.
- Support continuous improvement and future engineering safety projects.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven background in Lifting & Handling.
- Strong knowledge of LOLER and BS7121.
- Experience in roles such as Slinger, Banks‑person, or Crane Driver.
- Ideally experienced as a Lifting Specialist, Supervisor, or LOLER Coach.
- Essential: Lifting Appointed Person qualification A62/A61 or equivalent.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently.
Additional Information
- Overtime: Paid over 35 hours at enhanced rates (25% Mon-Fri, 50% Sat-Sun)
