Senior Project Manager - Water & Wastewater
Location:
Dublin (Regional Role) - Relocation required
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive + comprehensive package (DOE)

Are you an experienced Project Manager who thrives in fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary engineering environments?
Do you want to lead major water and wastewater projects from concept through to commissioning with real ownership, autonomy, and a collaborative team behind you?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to take the lead on complex civil and MEICA engineering projects across Ireland. You'll manage every stage of delivery, shape project strategy, engage directly with clients and stakeholders, and build high‑performing teams that deliver exceptional results.

The Opportunity
As Senior Project Manager, you'll be a key figure within a multi‑disciplinary engineering team delivering essential infrastructure projects across the water sector. You'll lead on:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA)
  • Building and structural elements
  • Commissioning and handover activities

Your role spans everything from project planning and HSQE leadership to commercial management, stakeholder engagement, resource planning and team development.

What you'll be doing
Project Delivery Leadership

  • Lead the delivery of one or multiple projects in a dynamic, "one-team" environment
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, risks, opportunities, reporting and KPIs
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Build strong working relationships with clients, representatives, and third parties
  • Resolve issues quickly, ensure seamless communication, and promote a collaborative culture
  • Obtain client satisfaction feedback and implement continuous improvements

Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability

  • Drive a positive safety culture across project teams
  • Lead toolbox talks, site inspections, and HSQE engagement
  • Represent the organisation as PSCS and support PSDP coordination

Commercial & Procurement Oversight

  • Support procurement of materials, subcontractors and services
  • Manage project cashflow and ensure timely submission of interim payment applications
  • Work closely with Contracts/Commercial Managers during financial negotiations and final accounts

Team Development & Leadership

  • Mentor engineers, supervisors, and site teams
  • Develop team capability, training plans and resource strategies
  • Support recruitment, workforce planning and staff development reviews

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to improving delivery processes
  • Champion new technologies, modern methods and CPD development

What you'll bring
We're looking for a confident, solutions‑driven Senior Project Manager who brings both leadership and deep technical understanding.

Experience

  • 10+ years' experience delivering civil and MEICA engineering projects
  • Proven experience in water or wastewater treatment, pumping stations, mechanical installations or electrical installation packages
  • Strong project leadership background across design, construction and commissioning

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to manage multiple complex workstreams under pressure
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practice
  • Financial and commercial acumen (cashflow, valuations, final accounts)
  • Ability to lead high‑performing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in MS Project, plus strong skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Full driving licence
  • Business levels of English language skills

Why this role?
This position is ideal for a Senior PM who wants:

  • Impact: Lead major water infrastructure projects that directly benefit communities
  • Visibility: Work across design, construction, commissioning and handover - not just one phase
  • Progression: Clear development pathways toward Contracts Manager, Framework Manager or Project Director roles
  • Variety: Exposure to a broad range of engineering challenges
  • Culture: A collaborative, supportive environment where your leadership really matters

How to apply
If you're a Senior Project Manager with a track record in delivering complex engineering projects, especially across water, wastewater or MEICA, we'd love to hear from you.
