Approved Electrician - Temporary Contract


Location: Nottingham (NG2)
Contract: Temporary
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 11/05/2026
Pay Rate: Up to £21 per hour (DOE)


About the Role


We are seeking an Approved Electrician to support the delivery of electrical installation, maintenance and testing works within a highly regulated environment. You'll be part of a mobile engineering team, ensuring all electrical tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to a high professional standard.
Your role will support both planned and reactive activities, ensuring compliance, exceptional service delivery, and strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and end users.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical installation, maintenance, fault‑finding and repair activities to industry standards.
  • Isolate defective equipment, diagnose faults, test components and carry out corrective repairs.
  • Install electrical systems and associated equipment, ensuring appropriate certification is completed.
  • Support with the preparation of estimates, quotes and technical proposals when required.
  • Follow all safety rules, engineering standards and internal procedures.
  • Manage allocated work orders from receipt through to completion, providing progress updates where required.
  • Work within a multi‑skilled team of electrical, mechanical and building services engineers.
  • Adhere to all quality management processes relating to M&E systems.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, end users and colleagues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and value‑for‑money initiatives.
  • Comfortable working within a secure and sensitive, fully manned environment.
  • Participate in internal training, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance.

Experience & Skills Required

  • City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent NVQ qualification.
  • City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition).
  • City & Guilds 2391‑10 (Inspection & Testing).
  • 2391‑20 (Design & Verification) advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience working on LV distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of standby power systems including generators and UPS.
  • Understanding of safe working practices and permit‑to‑work systems.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience working with internal/external stakeholders on complex tasks.
  • Understanding of A/C systems and controls (advantageous).
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, healthcare or GMP‑regulated environments is beneficial.
  • Flexible approach to working patterns and changing priorities.
