Planning Engineer - Transmission Projects
A Planning Engineer is required to support a major programme of high‑voltage transmission infrastructure works across the north of Scotland. This role focuses on developing, coordinating, and maintaining robust project plans across multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 across design, consents, procurement, and construction phases.
- Coordinate planning activities between internal project teams and external contractors to ensure accurate progress tracking and reporting.
- Analyse programme data to identify delays, risks, and opportunities, providing clear recommendations to support project decision‑making.
- Support programme governance by preparing updates, dashboards, and reports for senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to planning inputs for NEC or similar forms of contract, including programme updates and early warning/compensation event support.
About You
- Experience within the transmission, energy, or power infrastructure sector is highly desirable; wider construction or infrastructure planning experience will also be considered.
- Primavera P6 expertise is essential, with demonstrable experience building and maintaining complex programme structures.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret programme data and communicate insights clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts or similar contract planning environments is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
