Carbon60 is looking to recruit an Electrician to work for a leading Government Authority based in Leicestershire.

ROLE: Electrician
PAY RATE: £30/hour via Umbrella
JOB TYPE: 2 Months contract
LOCATION: Leicestershire LE67
HOURS: Monday - Friday 08:00 am to 04:00 pm

THE ROLE:
We are recruiting an Electrician to carry out repairs, maintenance, and installations across its housing stock. The role involves working in both occupied and void properties, supporting the Housing Repairs, Home Improvement, and Voids Teams. You will ensure all electrical work is completed safely, in line with current regulations and required standards. The position includes regular interaction with tenants, so a professional and customer-focused approach is important. The role also supports compliance with Awaab's Law to help maintain safe and healthy homes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations in line with current regulations and manufacturer guidelines
* Diagnose and resolve faults across a varied housing portfolio
* Complete all tasks efficiently and to the required standards
* Accurately record time, materials, and job details using a PDA/smart device
* Conduct work surveys to determine materials and scope of work
* Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicle stock to support a "Right First Time" approach
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and Council policies
* Support delivery of excellent customer service and continuous improvement
* Contribute to compliance with Awaab's Law and address HHSRS failures
* Maintain safe working practices and report hazards or incidents promptly
* Promote equality, diversity, and high service standards across all work
* Participate in training, development, and performance appraisal processes
* Assist in emergency situations as required

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
* Proven experience in electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across varied installations
* Good knowledge of current electrical regulations and compliance standards
* Experience working within occupied residential properties (desirable)
* Ability to manage workloads efficiently and complete tasks to a high standard
* Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
* Competence in using mobile technology (PDA) for job tracking and reporting
* Commitment to health & safety and safe working practices at all times

Essential Requirements:
Full UK driving licence
Access to a suitable vehicle
Valid business insurance to carry tools and equipment
