Start Date - ASAP
Duration - 12 Months - Potential to extend to 2/3 years
Working Pattern - 12 Hours Days / Day & Night Shifts as Required
Rotation - 2 weeks on/off
Rates - £800 Daily Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella
Clearance - BPSS

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Vessel Client Representative to support offshore wind turbine commissioning activities from specialist offshore vessels. This role is critical to ensuring commissioning works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to a high standard of quality, working closely with turbine OEM teams, vessel crews, and project stakeholders.

You will act as the on‑site client representative, providing day‑to‑day oversight of commissioning activities, verifying that safe systems of work are applied correctly, and ensuring progress, quality, and safety expectations are consistently met throughout offshore execution phases.

This position requires regular rotational offshore attendance on commissioning service vessels.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the client's on‑board representative during offshore wind turbine commissioning activities
  • Provide daily oversight of commissioning execution, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with approved procedures and work instructions
  • Verify that safety‑critical documentation, permits, and safe systems of work are fully implemented and adhered to at all times
  • Interface between turbine OEM teams, vessel management, and project delivery teams to support effective coordination of commissioning scopes
  • Coordinate and participate in vessel‑based meetings to align contractors, marine operations, and project representatives
  • Support the safe planning and execution of simultaneous operations involving multiple contractors
  • Ensure accurate, timely completion of daily progress reports in line with agreed reporting procedures
  • Contribute to the successful completion, acceptance, and handover of commissioned wind turbines offshore

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience or strong working knowledge of offshore wind farm construction, commissioning, or operations, or a comparable high‑risk industrial environment
  • Understanding of wind turbine technology and commissioning processes
  • Technical background supported by a relevant apprenticeship, vocational qualification, or technical education, ideally within marine, naval architecture, or similar disciplines
  • Proven ability to follow and verify compliance with work instructions, procedures, and commissioning documentation
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple contractors and disciplines in a live operational environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices and engage constructively with offshore teams
  • A proactive safety mindset and commitment to high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance

Working Pattern

  • Rotational offshore work aboard commissioning service vessels is a core requirement of this role
  • Candidates must be medically fit and eligible to work offshore under applicable industry standards
