Our client, a highly regarded organisation operating within the defence and advanced engineering sector, is seeking a Component Engineer to join their Component Engineering function. This role plays a key support position across engineering and the wider business, delivering technical guidance, robust data management, and high‑quality component support.

This opportunity would suit an individual with strong component knowledge who enjoys working within a structured, multi‑disciplinary engineering environment.

The Role

The Component Engineer will be part of a collaborative team responsible for providing technical advice, managing component data, liaising with suppliers, and responding to internal stakeholder queries. The role combines technical understanding with strong administrative and quality‑focused processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Responding to component‑related support queries from internal stakeholders
• Processing and maintaining component data, including lifecycle, export control, and REACH/RoHS compliance
• Completing departmental administration tasks in line with defined processes
• Providing support across electronic, electrical, mechanical, or materials commodities
• Raising and managing requests with suppliers as required
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the team

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven knowledge and experience of engineering components and parts
• An engineering degree or equivalent relevant industry experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
