Multi Skilled Engineer

Carbon60 is looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Engineer to work for our specialised industrial client based in London, UK.

ROLE: Multi skilled engineer

PAY RATE: £21.50 per hour PAYE

JOB TYPE: 3 month contract

LOCATION: London, UK (SW3)

HOURS: 42 hours per week - 4 days on / 4 days off working, 07:00 am to 19:00 pm with 1 hour lunch

THE ROLE:
Main duties & responsibilities:

• Complete all PPMs and reactive maintenance tasks in line with maintenance schedules.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across building services equipment.
• Carry out plant inspections, breakdown response, and general maintenance duties.
• Open, update, and close work orders using CAFM systems such as PlanOn/Facnet.
• Produce detailed shift reports and communicate major site issues to management.
• Escort and supervise subcontractors while they work on site.
• Ensure plant rooms and work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised.
• Prepare and follow Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and PPE requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and service documentation.
• Support contract KPI/SLA performance and maintain professional client relationships.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover and remain flexible with shift requirements.

Essential skills / experience / qualifications:

• Recognised Mechanical or Electrical qualification.
• Electrical C&G qualification or equivalent engineering qualification.
• BS7671 18th Edition certification.
• Electrical Inspection & Testing 2391 qualification.
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in building services maintenance.
• Experience working on electrical and mechanical (M&E) systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Previous experience in a similar Multi Skilled Engineer / Shift Engineer role.
• Good computer literacy and experience using CAFM systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Flexible to work shifts and participate in standby/on-call rota.
