Project Manager
Carbon60 is looking to recruit a Project Manager to work for our specialised industrial client based in Manchester, UK.
ROLE: Project manager (Engineering and Technical)
PAY RATE: £ 450 per day CIS basis
JOB TYPE: 3 Months contract
LOCATION: Manchester, UK (M13)
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week - 07:30 AM to 04:30 PM
THE ROLE:
Main duties & responsibilities:
- Manage projects end-to-end including programme delivery, budgets, commercial performance, and quality standards.
- Take ownership of project P&L, ensuring projects achieve agreed margins and are delivered without delays or penalties.
- Lead and coordinate in-house teams, subcontractors, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Develop and manage project programmes, risk assessments, method statements, CDM compliance, COSHH assessments, and permits to work.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality assurance, environmental systems, and health & safety regulations.
- Manage procurement activities including tender preparation, quotations, subcontractor appointments, and tender evaluations.
- Monitor project progress, KPIs, reporting, budgets, cash flow, and client expectations throughout delivery.
- Build strong client relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
- Support business development activities, tender submissions, and identification of new opportunities.
- Maintain high standards of safety, professionalism, customer service, and project administration across all sites.
Essential skills / experience / qualifications:
- RICS, CIOB, CEng, Graduate, or Higher Technician qualification within construction or building services.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within contracting and/or project management consultancy environments.
- Mechanical or Electrical building services background/skill set is required.
- Proven experience delivering projects under design & build, principal contractor, management fee, or traditional contracting arrangements.
- Strong commercial, financial, and P&L management experience on projects of significant value.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, subcontractors, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations, CDM compliance, risk assessments, and project management procedures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, client-facing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within demanding deadlines and quality standards.
- Experience preparing project reports, tender documentation, and management information.
- Willingness to complete required security vetting as per contract requirements.
- Desirable: Experience working within government contracts, listed buildings, FM, TFM, or PFI environments.
