6 Month Contract (Possible Extension) | Up to £400 per day | Hybrid Working | Bolton or Stevenage

Our client, a leading international defence organisation, is seeking a Component Engineer to join their established Component Engineering team on an initial 12-month contract.

Operating at the forefront of advanced technology and engineering, this organisation delivers highly complex products and systems supporting national security and defence programmes worldwide.

The Opportunity

The Component Engineering team provides critical support across multiple engineering disciplines, ensuring the effective management of component information, compliance requirements and lifecycle data.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative engineering environment, supporting engineers, suppliers and stakeholders across a range of cutting-edge programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to component-related technical queries from internal stakeholders
• Process and maintain component data within engineering systems
• Support component lifecycle and obsolescence activities
• Ensure compliance with REACH, RoHS and Export Control requirements
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain technical and compliance information
• Support Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical and Material commodities
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and departmental processes
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of engineering component data

Skills & Experience

We would be interested in hearing from candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Component Engineering
• Electronics Engineering
• Parts Engineering
• Obsolescence Management
• Engineering Support
• Hardware Engineering
• Electrical & Electronic Engineering

In addition, candidates should possess: (you don't need to tick every box and we encourage applications from candidates whose experience aligns with some, rather than all, of the requirements):

• Knowledge of electronic, electrical, mechanical or material components
• Understanding of component lifecycle management
• Experience working with engineering data, BOMs or component databases
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
• Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience

• Role: Component Engineer
• Contract Length: 6 Months
• Rate: Up to £400 per day
• Location: Bolton or Stevenage
• Working Pattern: Hybrid
