Join a leading UK defence organisation supporting critical national security programmes. We are seeking a proactive HR Administrator to play a key role within a collaborative HR team, providing efficient administrative support across employee queries, HR systems, data management, and documentation. You'll help drive accurate digital record management by converting personnel files into electronic formats, whilst supporting HR Business Partners, improving processes, and delivering a high-quality employee experience across the wider HR function.

What we're looking for:

  • Act as the primary HR systems contact, providing guidance on OneHR and processing employee lifecycle changes across HR platforms, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
  • Respond to employee and manager queries, delivering timely advice and managing expectations professionally.
  • Maintain electronic employee records and HR documentation, ensuring files are accurate, compliant, accessible, and aligned with data retention requirements.
  • Serve as Data Steward, overseeing HR document management, audits, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve HR administration issues by reviewing records, systems, and databases to support accurate data management.
  • Produce, maintain, and analyse HR reports and data to support informed decision-making across business areas.
  • Attend informal and formal meetings as a note-taker, providing administrative support to HR Business Partners and Advisors.
  • Collaborate with HR teams to improve processes, standardise ways of working, share best practice, and deliver a consistent HR service.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives while contributing to continuous improvement activities across the function.
  • Manage a varied workload, prioritising tasks effectively, providing cross-team support, and undertaking additional duties as required to ensure business continuity.


What you'll get to do as a HR Administrator:

  • A highly organised, experienced and proactive Administrator with the ability to manage high volumes of work, prioritise effectively and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience of working with HR Systems preferably Workday, with confidence processing employee lifecycle changes and maintaining accurate employee records
  • Experience of working with data, ensuring high levels of accuracy, data integrity and confidentiality, with the ability to investigate and resolve data discrepancies
  • Experiences in process improvement and streamlining to enable efficiency and created standardised ways of working
  • Strong customer service skills with experience of being customer facing, dealing with supporting people at all levels of the business.
  • An advanced level of expertise on Microsoft packages such as Excel and PowerPoint are essential, particularly with the ability manipulate and analyse data in Excel and produce accurate reports.
  • Ideally some HR administration experience or qualification such as CIPD, although this is not essential
  • A self-starter with a proactive approach, and flexibility to support team and colleagues where needed
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and multi-task with a range of complex organisational and business activities whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail


Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.

This job is at our client's site in Bolton facility, one of the North West's leading manufacturing sites for at least 25 years. The facility offers showers and bike racks and is near the motorway, with a petrol station outside. Amenities like an onsite canteen.
