Stereolith Engineer

This Stereolith Engineer role presents an exciting opportunity to join the cutting-edge 3D printing team at a leading global engineering company. As the Stereolith Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's state-of-the-art stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing operations, ensuring the seamless production of high-quality prototypes, models, and tooling for a wide range of innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess and log incoming 3D printing requests, selecting the optimal orientation and generating support structures using Materialise Magics Print software
- Prepare and execute the manufacturing process, including operating the SLA 3D printers, post-processing printed parts, and performing finishing tasks such as grit blasting, spray coating, and assembly
- Maintain the calibration and performance of all 3D printing equipment, liaising with service providers as needed
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to improve quality, efficiency, and lead times
- Provide technical support and guidance to the design team, assisting with CAD model preparation and modifications as required
- Stay up-to-date with the latest 3D printing technologies and materials, recommending and trialing new equipment and materials to enhance the company's capabilities

Qualifications and Skills:

- Proven experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role, preferably with exposure to 3D printing, prototyping, or tooling design
- Strong proficiency in CAD software, such as Creo, and 3D printing setup tools like Materialise Magics
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and right-first-time production
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Familiarity with risk assessments, safe working practices, and the handling of hazardous materials
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and adaptable approach
