The Role of the Engineer (Street Lighting)

As the Engineer (Street Lighting), you will be responsible for proposing scheme options, preparing street lighting designs, and designing briefs for projects from inception to detailed design. You will also be tasked with approving street lighting designs proposed by consultants, developers, and other local authorities across the region.
Your key responsibilities will include:

• Proposing solutions and preparing technical studies, reports, and designs for the street lighting elements of highway and transport developments
• Preparing estimates, monitoring, and reviewing project costs to ensure completion within agreed budgets
• Preparing contract specifications, policies, and procedures on time and to budget
• Providing technical input throughout the construction period and assisting with the supervision of construction works
• Liaising with project clients, project teams, internal and external consultants, and the general public

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate for the Engineer (Street Lighting) role will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• RQF level 4 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of AMILP (Associate Member of Institute of Lighting Professionals) status
• Proven design and construction experience of street lighting for highway, highway structures, or related projects
• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with engineering professionals and stakeholders
• Full UK working rights
