Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Skilled (Permanent)
Location: Broughton
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 6 off rotation (includes days, nights, and weekends)
Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a permanent role at a large industrial facility in Broughton. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out both preventative and corrective maintenance across a diverse range of mechanical and electrical assets, including CNC machinery, conventional production equipment, paint shops, and chemical processing areas.
This role operates on a rotating shift schedule and reports directly to the Maintenance Process Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and unplanned corrective maintenance activities.
- Identify and control hazards during maintenance tasks, ensuring safety is a top priority.
- Execute maintenance tasks in compliance with Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments.
- Conduct Dynamic Risk Assessments as needed.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults effectively to minimize equipment downtime.
- Suggest and implement improvements to maintenance routines and reliability processes.
- Build strong working relationships with internal customers and stakeholders.
- Accurately document work performed using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Essential Requirements:
- Time-served Maintenance Technician or Fitter, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong background in maintaining mechanical, electrical, or automated systems.
- Proven ability in fault finding, diagnosis, and repair.
- Comfortable working from maintenance procedures, technical documents, and schematic diagrams.
- Experience working safely in hazardous environments (e.g. at height, with chemicals, electrical systems, stored energy, confined spaces).
