Role: Senior Structural / Welding Inspector
Location: Norway
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 2-Years
Working Pattern: 6-Days Per Week
Rates: €Negotiable
Clearance: Right to Work in Norway

Scope:

  • Work closely with the Fabrication Manager, Quality Manager and the wider site team to continuously monitor the fabrication Works performed by the Contractor, and ensure compliance with the Project requirements including but not limited to applicable specifications, standards and norms.
  • Liaise with the Contractor's team at the fabrication site on all fabrication Works being undertaken.
  • Participate in the various regular site meetings including ad-hoc - QC inspection look-ahead, QC issues meeting, joint weekly quality walks, NC reviews etc.
  • Perform surveillance/witnessing of the fabrication Works including fit-ups and dimensional control checks as notified by the Contractor and throughout, using agreed documentation including ITPs, and ensure compliance with Project/Contract requirements.
  • Attend the Contractor' subcontractors' facility and perform surveillance/witnessing of the fabrication Works as notified and as necessary.
  • Perform daily monitoring of the quality of the workmanship including general housekeeping, welding station, welding processes including welder qualification for WPS being used, welding equipment, materials and consumables traceability, etc.
  • Monitor the NDT wait times being followed by the NDT technicians and ensure correctness.
  • Support in the review of quality documentation prior to commencement of fabrication activities - ITPs, welding/NDT and inspection procedures, etc.


Experience:

  • Extensive experience as a client Inspector and at supervisory level with good understanding of the fabrication, NDT and coating methods of large fabricated offshore structures and sub-structures (Offshore Windfarms - substations and jackets).
  • Experience working to NORSOK / DNV and applicable standards for Offshore Wind or O&G offshore structures.
  • Ability to work to high degree of autonomy, within a team, effectively, efficiently and with a proactive approach.


Certifications:

  • CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent
  • Other relevant qualifications e.g. NACE, NDT, H&S, ISO QMS auditor, etc.
  • Time served with HNC/HND or craft qualification in a Structural/Mechanical discipline.
  • Professional standard level of written and spoken English
